Breathing Space

I have always loved the outdoors, hiking, running, swimming. I have always loved adventure, ziplining and skydiving. So, combining being outside and enjoying nature with my camera was a bonus. Traveling and getting out of my comfort zone and seeing other parts of the world is in my blood. These are photos from Lake O’Hara which is located in Yoho National Park, in the province of British Columbia. The elevation is 6,630 ft. The lake and valley are accessible with over 6-mile hike along a road with an elevation gain of 500m., (it was quite steep and don’t forget, I was hiking with a bag full of camera gear and a tripod.) It was a marvelous hike, the air was fresh and clean, the rock trail was quiet with just those few people who had made the hike and were on the way back (everyone gave words of encouragement) or the others in front or behind us. The sky was a beautiful blue with white puffy clouds. Along, the way I stopped a few times to just take in the scenery, I didn’t know if I would ever see or experience anything else this beautiful and pure. When I finally reached the top, the views were even more amazing. I stood and listened to the quietness and marveled at the massive snow-capped mountains. Took a deep breath and exhaled. I pulled out my lunch and sat in the quiet and ate lunch with my hiking partner and then took out my camera and began to capture those picturesque scenes.

I will be honest, the hike was tough, a few times I wanted to turn around, but something would not let me quit. I just put one foot in front of the other and guess what, it was worth every minute.

Always Exploring with Camera…
